Information Blocking Compliance Training Bundle

Role-based education that helps healthcare organizations understand and comply with the Information Blocking Rule established under the 21st Century Cures Act — built for compliance, ROI, clinical, and front office teams alike.

Developed in Partnership

Why Compliance Matters

Federal enforcement of the Information Blocking Rule is now active. With approximately 2,200 complaints filed through the federal portal and civil monetary penalties up to $1 million per violation, healthcare organizations face significant risk without proper staff training.

This bundle provides immediate, practical compliance education across every department that handles patient data. Designed for multidisciplinary teams, this training equips compliance professionals, release of information (ROI) staff, clinical staff, and registration/front office personnel with the knowledge needed to support timely, appropriate access to electronic health information (EHI).

Agenda

Four Role-Specific Courses

Module 1

Information Blocking Training for Compliance Staff

Duration: 180 Minutes

Compliance professionals learn the Information Blocking rules, identify the practical components of a compliance program, and understand how the rules will be enforced — including tips to prepare for enforcement.

Module 2

Information Blocking Training for Release of Information Staff

Duration: 60 Minutes

ROI staff learn the rationale for and basics of the rules, identify the electronic health information that must be shared upon request, and know what to do when EHI cannot be shared for technical, legal, or other reasons.

Module 3

Information Blocking Training for Clinical Staff

Duration: 60 Minutes

Clinical staff learn the rationale for and basics of the rules, the circumstances under which clinical judgment may be applied to whether information should be shared, and the consequences of failing to comply.

Module 4

Information Blocking Training for Registration / Front Office Staff

Duration: 30 Minutes

Registration and front office staff learn the basics of the rules, the possible consequences of not responding to a request for information, and what to do when a patient or another party makes a request.
