Interoperability Matters

Steering Committee

Steering Committee members are elected by The Sequoia Project’s 90+ member organizations representing diverse national healthcare industry and interoperability perspectives.

2026 STEERING COMMITTEE APPLICATION IS NOW OPEN: Application Closes 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, March 23, 2026

The Interoperability Matters Nominating Committee invites Sequoia Project members to submit applications to serve on the Interoperability Matters Steering Committee. The Nominating Committee will evaluate all applicants and prepare a slate for member elections to take place in April 2026. The new Steering Committee members will be announced in May 2026.

Please note that all applicants must be employed by a Sequoia Project member organization, and preference will be given to applicants who have experience working on Sequoia Interoperability Matters Committees or workgroups.

Role and Responsibilities

Facilitate the work of Interoperability Matters

  • Recruiting Workgroup members
  • Tracking Workgroup progress
  • Identifying funding mechanisms to offset operational costs of current and future Workgroup convening

Prioritize Interoperability Matters Workgroups

  • Evaluating proposed efforts submitted from within or outside of the Sequoia Project, including the Board, Members, and Workgroups
  • Seeking input regarding prioritization from members and other stakeholders

Provide substantive input to The Sequoia Project

  • Board on a semi-annual basis regarding recommended Interoperability Program priorities and new workgroups to assure alignment with Sequoia strategy and financial support
  • Leadership and program staff to effectively evaluate the Interoperability Matters program
  • Leadership and program staff on development of proposed Workgroup Charters
  • Leadership and program staff on promotion and dissemination of Workgroup products
