Cerner’s Burke: Massive new EHR collaboration ‘a big deal’ for clients

Collaboration between two health care IT nonprofits will pave the way for easier information exchange between records systems.

The CommonWell Health Alliance, a trade entity of health IT companies that offers tools for interoperability, will partner with Carequality, a 501(c)(3) that has developed a framework to establish the “rules of the road” for data sharing. Interoperability allows records to be shared between electronic health record (EHR) systems.
