Health IT Expert Provides Strategic Leadership and Expanded Opportunities for Cross-Collaboration of Interoperability Initiatives
McLean, VA – October 21, 2015 – The Sequoia Project announced today the addition of Micky Tripathi, PhD, president and CEO of Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative (MAeHC), to its board of directors. Tripathi’s healthcare IT expertise will benefit a board that is active in guiding the future of The Sequoia Project, the non-profit, leading independent advocate for interoperability.
“I’m excited to connect the dots between The Sequoia Project and the many organizations I already serve,” said Tripathi. “From the Health IT Policy Committee to the Argonaut Project, there are many groups working on different key aspects of health IT interoperability, and we can all collaborate more closely. The Sequoia Project is in a unique position to drive this cooperation on behalf of the public good, and I’m happy to help in any way I can.”
Tripathi currently serves as chair of the Interoperability Workgroup of the Federal Health IT Policy Committee, and also as a member of its Privacy & Security Workgroup; is a director of the New England Health Exchange Network (NEHEN); and is a director and former board chair of the eHealth Initiative. Mr. Tripathi has advised statewide health information exchange projects in Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, Missouri, Georgia, Illinois and North Carolina.

In his new role with The Sequoia Project, Tripathi offers a breadth of leadership experience and strong industry relationships to the organization’s governing body. Under his leadership, MAeHC deployed electronic health record (EHR) systems for thousands of providers in practice and hospital settings. He also previously led the deployment of an Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) and CMS-certified Quality Data Center that now serves the quality improvement and reporting needs of several enterprise customers.
